Rated 1 out of 5Â by me65 instructions are a joke
I just read the instructions on this. It might be the best downlighter in the world but you are going to struggle to fit it in any normal house!
To quote "The unit must be located 0.2m away from a joist."
Given the normal spacing of joists is 40cm this is just not possible. And if you don't abide but the instructions you are not abiding by the wiring regs.........

I've had these runnng for some time now and when I bought them they were about £15.00 - which I though was expensive then. I need another 10 but the price is too high now at nearly £20.00 per unit.
They are well made, easy to fit and reliable. I've used them as downlighting on a pir in my overhanging long outside porch.

This is a beautifully constructed product and has a lot going for it. Very energy efficient, very bright (50w equivalent no exaggeration), but one thing to take into account is that the beam angle by my calculation is about 80 degrees. For this reason it will not give the same effect as standard 50mm downlighters, ie no "pool of light" in the same way.
As long as this is not an issue this is a much better product in all ways than any 50mm downlighter. One of the great benefits is that it seals the hole in the ceiling, which lots of 50mm downlighters do not do. As a result many cause significant air leakage problems.
Finally the cost - at present I feel this is somewhat higher than justified. I would be happy to pay under £10 per unit but at present it will only be fully cost-justifiable for commercial installations - for domestic installations most people will stick with 50mm downlighters with LED lamps in them.
