LAP Adjustable Downlight 7W 240V
I bought 3 of these just over 12 months ago. Very poor design and don't emit much light. 1 stopped working after about 6 months and the second stopped after 13 months. I've just gone to replace the bulb sand you have to replace the who unit!! What a terrible design!
Now they're both over 12 months old and I have to get an electrician and buy 2 new fittings for something that should be a simple bulb change!
I can see why they're not stocked any more!
Not really Screwfix's issue as they're over 12 months old.

I've been using these lights for 6 months, on a trial basis, replacing my 50W halogen downlights one by one as & when they blow. They aren't quite as bright as the halogen's but not far off. These 7w lights are half the price, less bulky and slightly brighter than a previous trial of a 3x 3W LED downlight I tried 2 years ago, plus a couple of others I wished I hadn't bothered with .
The light pattern is wider than some other LED's which are deliberately narrower beamed in an attempt to try and maintain intensity. As an example, I have fitted one in a stairwell which is 32" wide x 6Ft long (7 steps) and all 7 steps are brightly lit, with even cover up the walls (no shadows from beam edges).
They only need a 74mm hole, which is smaller than most. This is good news if fitting at new locations, because if you ever did want to replace with a different light, chances are you'd need to enlarge the hole. It's not such good news when replacing bulkier halogen lights. The 95mm OD dia is only just enough to cover the larger hole left by the old larger light fitting, but once positioned, they look OK.
Connections are neat with no flylead, but the terminal screws are very small. The coverplate acts as a cablegrip to leave a neat installation.
There is just one strange problem; most Screwfix stores I tried over the last 6 months only stock ONE, so that now I've decided to go for another 5 I had to order online.
As you can imagine, I recommend these LAP LED downlights as being the best performing and best value I've found in 2 years of looking.
