One of the poorest quality DP switches i have ever had the misfortune of having to fit two faulty ones, before fitting a third, working, alternative manufacturers effort...
The switch, when closed, went to O/C on both poles, merely by gently moving the conductors in the load ferrules.
Buzzing,arcing and welding?,yes.

The LAP sockets were of good quality but the terminals on the 20 DP switches for tightening up two 2.5 cables was of poor standard. I installed these on a kitchen job recently and had issues with all 3 switches - decision will be whether to change everything or try some new switches that I dont rate????

For a 20amp switch that requires termination of 2.5mm wires in the terminals, the screw sizes were small and poor. The same make sockets were fine (also needing 2.5mm) and also the 13amp switched fused spur but the 20amp switch had smaller terminals and screws. This proved difficult as 3x2.5mm cables had to be crammed into each input terminal (not sure if they will stay tight). The switch itself also had a poor feel (not positive click when switched).
