LAP 13A 2-Gang SP Switched Socket & USB Charger Black Nickel Flat Plate
Very poor quality
Installed this socket a few months ago, the usb sockets have now stopped working. Avoid at all cost.

The whole point of a flat plate socket is that it is flat to the wall.To retro fit this into a standard 25mm box you need to use a spacer which brings it off the wall 10mm and it looks poor.Even with that spacer installation is near impossible
The instructions say that it needs a 35mm box.I doubt this would work in practice as in most installs the cables enter from the top or bottom and the unit takes up almost all of that available space. This unit is nearly as deep as a shaver socket .I was installling in a stud wall and was able to change the box to a deeper one on a solid wall that would not have been possible
A nice bit of kit if you can plan to use it from the start of a build and have the correct box installed at first fix.otherwise it is a nightmare

Very good product.
The USB socket aesthetically matched the existing LAP sockets I had in our kitchen.
The product works really well; we always had two USB power supplies plugged into the socket it replaced, now we have the sockets back and still have the charging capabilities.
Installation was straight forward; as simple as installing a normal socket.
You do need 35mm behind, more will make it easier. Although unlisted in the description, a 10mm spacer is included in the pack.
Technically, the unit will supply 2.1A, which will charge most phones and tablets quickly, quicker than the 0.5A supplies that come with most phones.
The 2.1A is shared across the two sockets, so if you have two units plugged in, they will get just over 1A each, still more than the stock 0.5A chargers.
In use, the socket doesn't get warm, which can only be a good thing.
The charging ports cannot be switched off, but will take little power if nothing is plugged in drawing current.
Overall an very good product, a little expensive, but worth it for the de-cluttering and getting your sockets back for other uses.

Great quality and the nickel finish (you could call it tinted chrome) is beautiful and seems fairly resistant to finger marks.
Switches have a good quality feel to them, with a positive click.
Quite expensive (over-priced?) compared to the rugular, non-USB version, but a very useful product.
The USB's are rated at 2.1amps, which is perfect for any iPhone including the latest 6/6Plus, and also for iPads too. VERY useful.
