Rated 1 out of 5 by excellent double sockets good quality, useful double earth connections, loved the screw covers and smart rounded corners 10 Jun 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Low price but good quality Nice to have twin earth connections. Rounded corners feel good to touch. Like the screw covers, and the spare is useful. Great value for money. 21 May 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Only one thing wrong Good looking and good price, the only issue I had was that the cable entry point is at the bottom centre, which is where the cables come through the back box and therefore a really tight fit that puts pressure on the cables and faceplate 15 May 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing After have the kitchen replastered, decided to replace the switches, sockets etc. with new ones. Bought these along with a number of other very disappointing LAP items, but what it doesn't mention is that they are 'low profile'. This means that more of the switch gear has to fit in to the back box. After fitting one I noticed it wasn't quite level, so unscrewed it to make use if the 'slide' in the back box. When level, the socket would not screw into the back box as the top of the switchgear behind the face plate caught on the top of the back box! So I either replace the back box, live with a wonky socket or replace the socket. Not really a choice so will try and return these to Screwfix. The other observation is that the screws that hold the wires in are of a soft metal that deforms the slot slightly on tightening. So if you have a perfectly level back box, want a low profile socket and are only going to fit once, these might be OK. 28 Apr 2016

Answer:
Hi Rnbb,
The difference between single pole and double pole is that a single pole socket only isolates live, whereas a double pole socket isolates both the live and neutral. For that reason double pole sockets are generally considered safer.

Answer:
These are the socket itself, to use them you would need a galvanised installation box or a pattress box depending on your needs. http://www.screwfix.com/c/electrical-lighting/back-boxes/cat7230011
