Is this matting suitable to go under an 18mm engineered oak floor?

Asked by: ProjectMoneypit
Hello, It is possible, but you would be required to lay a 10mm latex self-leveller above the underfloor heating first. We also offer a foil system, suitable for directly under the wood. If you look at product code 63623 with screwfix

Can the thermostat be installed in the bathroom / shower room

Asked by: 10Watt
Hello, Yes it can. The mat is fully earth sheathed and waterproof so is completely safe for installing in a bathroom/shower room. It must still be RCD protected

How is underfloor heating laid over a suspended timber floor?

Should you: Lay 12mm [minimum] marine plywood. 2. Spread 1-2mm tile adhesive. 3. Lay 6 or 10mm thermal board. 4. Lay thermal heating mat. 5. Spread tile adhesive. 6. Lay ceramic tiles. 7. Connect heating circuit directly to the main fuse board.
Asked by: Gorhar
This is a correct way to lay. The thermal boards come with fixings for wood, so a layer of tile adhesive is not required

Hello, is it possible to cut the mat. Obviously not the cable, just the matting. Thanks

Asked by: Hutchie3610
Hello, The matting is made from a fibreglass mesh, however, you must be careful not to cut the cable in any way. The cable can easily be removed from the matting, which is recommended to do before cutting.
