FANTASTIC Bought this cabin to replace one which was falling down. It has a solid and strong construction make sure you have a rubber mallet you will need one. I built this on my own and it took me approx. 2 days with the exception of the roof tiles, on my own this took for ever...be warned! The customer service from the company who supply Screwfix is "Outstanding" and is second to none. This is a fantastic product at twice the price it really does come with everything you need and loads of extras. 15 Dec 2013
Good cabin / poor instructions Overall quality is very good as is the value however, the instructions are poor with poor clarity black and white images. My brother in-law downloaded the the coloured version from the Screwfix website which makes it a little easier to follow however it was not until we got to window head height that we realised there was differences between the 2 sets of instructions. One set shows 18 logs on back wall, other shows 17. Same applies to numbers from floor to bottom of window and up the side of the window. Rather than dismantle we modified which meant that the building was 1 log lower than it should have been and the window head did not line through with door head. Other minus point is that although the door comes fully assembled in it's frame, the windows do not and require constructing from scratch. Instructions also state 50mm lap on ridge tiles when it should be 150mm as is evident by the 150mm adhesive coating. SCREWFIX - PLEASE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS. 22 May 2012
Kinver Summerhouse Forget building this in 2 days - it's at least twice that unless youv'e done one before. The plans are not clearly printed- download a set from screwfix and refer to them whenever you need a look at the detail. Be very careful when you get to the top of the walls - you must be sure to use the correct pieces to span the doors and walls and use them in the right order. Use loads of screws (big ones) to secure the windows and go right through from one side to the other to increase the stiffness of the walls by "clamping" the wall logs between the windows surrounds. It makes quite a difference to the rigidity. Same applies to the wall plate components - a few big screws securing thin pieces to thick are time well spent. There were plenty of spare floor boards but not much else and, finally, assemble it quickly after it arrives, bits of wood like this tend to start warping and twisting pretty quickly lying on the drive and you may have to use more effort to get things aligned than if you got stuck in straight away. Despite these few points I'm delighted with the outcome and I don't think I could have bought the materials for much less than £1200, so a bargain overall. 23 Aug 2010
EXcellent value When the pile of timber turned up on a lorry i thought what have i let myself in for, but once started it was a lot easier than i thought. The instructions are a bit daunting at first but once the 1st row up from the base is laid it becomes easier to assemble, several people have seen the finished cabin and cannot believe how reasonable the price is for the quality. 29 Jun 2010
