Rated 1 out of 5Â by pingly 6 panel glass door
Door made of plywood?! As soon as i realised this I should have sent it straight back. Now, 6 months later and after having to remove door 4 times due to swelling, the council have picked up that there is no kite mark on glazing. Am awaiting outcome...

When I started to handle this door I was surprised to find out how heavy it was. This gave me confidence that it was a "quality" product. Whilst its description was hardwood - it turned out that it was an "engineered wood" product with hardwood veneers. Although this made for a stronger construction it was very difficult to work. I used a power plane and had to change the blade as the glues and different layers of woods made for tough working of both planing door to fit and for cutting out the recesses for the door furniture. On the plus side the door looks strong and looks great having been painted with two coats of primer/undercoat and two coats of gloss paint. The standard of the untreated door when I removed it from the pakaging was very good. I hope that the work involved in preparing this door will prove to have been worthwhile and that this door lasts for a long time.

As per the previous review don't buy this expecting a conventional engineered hardwood construction. Once you plane back the sides or the edges you notice the ply based construction with a sliver veneer on top. Side on it looks awful once the sides have been planed to suit the frame and to allow for the rebating of the furniture. I hope my painting will cover it up
Were it not for the fact that they are installed etc Id be sending these back.
Very poor description.

The door shown in the picture has 6 lights, reasonable to expect 6 pieces of glass then? Not so, the door has only one glass unit with applied stick on wood to both sides of the glass. It looks OK face on but very tacky from an angle, you see the strips of wood from both sides with daylight between.
The door is a hardwood veneer over ply type of construction.
Better description of this door please.
