Rated 2 out of 5Â by Nomorenicknamesleft Letting by after two years.
I fitted two of these either side of a central heating filter system. They both worked fine for the first year. Now at two years old, one lets water by in the "off" position..... so I can't clean the filter out. Both will be binned next summer when I drain the system down and fit some quality valves. Sometimes money isn't everything.
Be careful of the 16mm valves too. I fitted several of these a few years ago, when I came to shut them off two of them leaked at the shut off screw. I had to replace these as they wouldn't stop leaking..... not impressed.

Works as you would expect with no problems and at a good price. Couldn't even get these in the first big diy chain I tried.

I have purchased about 10 of these 22 mm isolating valves, yes they do isolate and don't leak- initially. So it was left open to flow for 8 or 9 months. On needing to emergency turn off a section of heating pipes, the 2 valves controlling feed and return of the area were a) stiff to turn off, and b) leaked through the screw area, one leaked 200 ml in an hour, the other about 100 ml in an hour. This was when used to stop flow, and unfortunately when turned open to re-allow flow, BOTH CONTINUED TO LEAK!
One surely expects to not need to use them very frequently once fitted, and when you do need to use them, they should work effectively, well yes they isolated the section of piping, BUT they themselves leaked. removal of them was more of a problem than the situation that caused them to be used to isolate the area!
I thought they were good, now I am not so sure, and it will be with apprehension when I need to use the others to isolate a section of piping! Good Luck to those who fit them and require to use them in the future!
I rarely comment on materials, but replacing them has been a real WET PIG!
