Impax IM800I 700W Inverter Generator 230V
Light, compact generator
Started 2nd pull straight out of the box! The instructions are supplemented by lots of helpful labels on the generator case. Useful priming pump to fill carburettor before starting, don't forget to open vent on fuel cap when running, and close when transporting!
It's noisier than the market leader and sounds quite enthusiastic when running.
If it doesn't start within a couple of pulls I've probably forgotten to check something!
I.e.fuel tap on, economy switch off, run switch on, choke on, fuel vent on cap open!
This sounds silly, but I think it looks really cute!

Great little gennie
I run a battery and inverter system from the van and needed a pure sine wave generator to run the charger to top up the batteries when on site for more than one day. Started first time and still had half a tank of fuel after 2 hours running. Can pick it up with 2 fingers even when fueled up. Only used it for 2 days so far so cannot comment on reliability but looks reasonably well made so not expecting any problems with it.

Decent output for use on our allotment with all tools bar the lawn mower. Also use it with our motorhome, charges the habitation battery and powers small mains devices when there's no hook up. Great value.

Gene for caravanning
I bought this gene to charge my caravan battery on a seasonal pitch, which it does well. It is slightly noisier than its Honda equivalent but at half the price who cares. The only disappointment was that it cannot connect via the caravan's power input socket as this requires a higher amperage and when connected the gene 'cuts out' as it is not capable of supplying the required power. To overcome this I simply connect directly to the battery but clearly none of the internal 3 pin sockets become live. It is also light and small enough to put in the doorway of the caravan for security without blocking access. A great buy but if you want to run your caravan like it was on mains power you will need to buy at least a 2,000 watt gene!
