HSS Metal Boxed Drill Bit Set Metric 25 Piece Set
Took a punt on these for £12 as I wanted a set of "day to day" drill bits.
Firstly the price is excellent. Don't think you will find a 25pc drill set in a solid metal tin in too many places for £12.
Well I wasn't expecting miracles but was pleasantly surprised.
I put the 10mm bit in my drill press and proceeded to drill a half inch block of galvy steel I had. No pilot hole, straight in with the 10mm. I ran the drill press slow at 300rpm and used oil to cool the bit during. Happy to say it cut through the steel no problem. Nice spirals coming off. Did a few more identical holes and inspected the tip. No sign of wear and it still felt sharp.
If you treat these bits correctly they will do their intended job time and time again just fine. No doubt if you spin these up fast and go attacking stainless they will blunt very quickly. But then again so will any HSS bit. Treat them correctly and they are great for plastic, wood, mild steel, aluminium, copper, brass.
Don't try and cut tool steel, stainless or spring steel with them because they aren't going to work. If you want to drill the very hard stuff your going to need to spend the money on a good set of cobalt bits. But you can use these for everything else and in turn save using your expensive cobalts for when they are required.

Not the best drill bits ever
Three of the medium size bits (4, 5 and 6mm) were all bent - up to about 2mm off at the tip.
Drilling very slowly got around the problem. Very shap bits, went straight through the Mild Steel I bought them for, and got the job done, but next time I'll go for a better brand.

I bought these drill bits to replace my previous set which I managed to break removing a very stubborn bolt.
This is a comprehensive set with drills sized at every 0.5 millimeter.
They cover every size required to complete my most recent project.

Tin of bits!
Sturdy tin, they DONT'T fall out when tipped up and about - very useful
good range of sizes including 0.5mm graduations at lower end
? how long they will stay that way - time will tell!
