These are both amazing grinders tough but not to heavy powerfull but not to loud. These are probably as effective if not more so that their 2 stroke cousins they plough through stone and metal like theres no tomorrow they are both grinders that will last. However they do not come with a box to keep them in which i can live with i just added one to my basket at the same time to store them the spanners and blades in..... and i know i was warned but i cant get over the fact the 9" one does not come with a plug every other Hitachi 110v tool does but for some reason this doesnt but. That being said is only a small problem and these are still a great buy. One word of advice the Hitachi diamond blade twin pack (one 4 inch one 9) last just as long as the marcist ones and at a third of the price

used Hitachi grinders for years and this one is the same as always.....reliable, powerful and......green!
Unbelievable value considering the freebie grinderette.
we use the 9" to cut steel all day long and this one pays for itself repeatedly, although the guard, as always, is a pain to release.
The ad said no plug but ours had them.
we buy these anyway (they last ages) but saved a few quid so happy days.

Great value for money. Only draw back is you have to purchase a 110v plug (38908) costing £1.75 for the 9" grinder.
I thought electrical items had to be sold with a plug. There could be some idiot out there who wires a 240v plug to this!!

not unpacked the 4" grinder yet but 9" grinder has no plug, first time in about 20 years thats happened, very inconvenient and another trip out to buyone.previous grinder(not hitachi) had a clip fix guard, very easy to use, hitachi uses allen key,not very easy to use and allen key isprone to getting lost. other big gripe is it does not come with a case so can't keep everything together easily. still its good value for money(less than 9" on its own) and it works well
