If I never wished to undo a fastening, I'd use rivets. But these nuts will deliver an unreleasable fastening for you anyway...
At least 15 of the nuts in my pack of 100 are disastrously faulty, in that the thread axis is NOT perpendicular to the nut faces - clearly visible if you spin the nut on to the bolt. If you tighten down such a nut, a small section of thread takes the load on its own, instead of spreading it evenly. These threads are then damaged in a small area and render the nut unreleasable. And in stainless stell this serious... Took ages to drill and saw the wretched thing free. I'll now have to go back and check every used nut... Screwfix are you reading this? To whom do I show these failures?
