Having used these roller sleeves a few years ago and being frustrated with the 'pile' molting, I was a bit hesitant using them again, but, having read previous reviews about prewashing the sleeves I decided to take the plunge. Instead of washing them first though, I decided to give them a good 'scratch' with my fingers. A fair bit of fluff came off them, but when the majority seemed to have gone I started rolling. After about 10 mins of use and picking out several bits of fluff and just making a couple of extra 'passes' over the area, the sleeves actually performed pretty well and lost very little fluff and applied the paint as well as other, more expensive sleeves might do.
So, if you're looking for an absolutely immaculate, first time, finish, then you may wish to spend a bit (or lot) more on your roller sleeves, but for a good finish on most walls or ceilings, you can't really go far wrong with these chappies, especially at little more than a quid a throw.
Oh and I left the first sleeve in cling film for 5 days before coming back to it and doing another ceiling and the finish was just as good as the first, so all in all, I think these sleeves are very good value for money.

Great roller for the price. Gave an excellent finish but needs washing before use with water to get rid of loose fibres.

Bought for painting on concrete base floor with lots of wide cracks and defects. Roller went over with ease and ironed out all cracks and defects with a few rolls. Wouldn't recommend for walls as they hold a bit of paint. Which on a floor is a bonus. Perfect product for the right job.
