Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good glue A good glue for joining slightly uneven surfaces. It works best on slightly damp surfaces.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not what I expected This is like miniature expanding foam, pieces need to be clamped together which is not always easy, and as it expands it oozes out, its yellow in colour, so not suitable for many of the jobses I intended it for, so not suitable in my opinon for anything that requires a tidy repair, not quite as stong a bond as I had expecting either given its advertising

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough glue This is really strong stuff. It does expand somewhat so things do need clamping together.

I'm looking for an adhesive that will bond laminated sections in wood. These are then turned on a lathe. I've seen some comments that this adhesive cannot be removed when set. Just how hard is it?

Answer:
It is not actually that hard in the scheme of things, on a par with wood rather than stone or metal. It does stick extremely well and it is difficult to remove excess once fully cured; i do it after about 3 - 4 hours. As it expands to around 3 times its original volume if it is able there can be a fair amount of excess to remover at the edges especially if you over do it. I think it would be ideal for what you require, just remember to clamp the parts together well otherwise it will force the layers apart as it tries to expand and you will end up with a layer of what appears to be dense foam.

Answer:
Gorilla Glue can be used to bond a wide variety of substrates including Stone, Metal, Ceramic, Glass, Wood, Foam and much more. Although it can bond to some plastics (those with a lower oil content) we would not ordinarily recommend it for this substrate. Plastic is a very difficult surface to bind, and must always be lightly sanded to create a key which the glue can bond to.
On this occasion we would probably recommend our Gorilla Superglue (for internal use only) and our Gorilla Epoxy product (for external use). Please note however that our Epoxy is water resistant not waterproof and so we could not guarantee its durability over the longer term.
