As many others have said there's a problem with the pins being too small and loose. I thought I'd give it a go anyway and found it easy to fit and tension, and it worked perfectly for an hour or so. But now I find that the pins have fallen out and one has pinged off somewhere and is lost!
The solution is to use pins that are a push fit in the holes so they don't fall out, for some reason the manufacturers don't seem to have taken any notice of all the comments though. I'm going to make my own, luckily I have a small lathe and can easily turn up a couple the correct size, if you don't have that facility I guess all you can do is try to find a bit of steel rod the right diameter and cut a couple of bits off, a nail would do, it's such a simple thing to rectify I don't understand why they haven't done it by now?

Well engineered gate spring
A very strong and sturdy gate spring with a fair price tag. Easy to install and very effective.

Easy To Fit
Good value for money and easy to fit. Pin a little loose but once you have the correct spring tension all is good

Mind your fingers...
I don't know where the items recent reviewers bought are coming from - mine was very poor. Needed a replacement as the first one supplied did not have the spring properly hooked and kept slipping out of the end block. Also as noted by other critical reviewers the pins (and tool) slip out of the block when winding on the tension - I have a bruised finger to show for it.
Generally poor quality and no sign of that improving in the near future.
It works - but only just. I'd look elsewhere and pay a bit more for a better product another time.
