Frogtape Painter's Multi-Surface Masking Tape 36mm x 41m
Horses for courses
I don't touch the "normal" crepe masking for painting jobs, certainly not for anything previously painted - glass and worktops fine, painted surface no.
No tape is going to stick to a rough dirty surface, so preparation is all important - fine open mesh abrasive then a rub down with much underestimated solvent, plain meth's. If there are slight imperfections with the surface, paint will always bleed under the tape.
As for pulling the paint off, that's pure bad painting - a test for paint adhesion has always been to stick a bit of the rough masking tape onto the paint then yank it off - a good paint surface will not pull off.
I'm changing exclusively to water-based paints, often on top of old gloss solvent paint - same system, rub down, meth's then Zinsser Bull's-eye primer #from Screwfix#. Nothing wrong with this tape used properly. Decent masking tapes on the right surface gives a superior finish and saves hours in cleaning up

Ideal tape for masking skirting boards.
Will continue to buy this product for future use.
The only negative I can think of, would be if left on a surface over night the paint softens the tape making it very is to rip/tear when removing.

This is a great product at a great price. I've used it a few times now & would recommend it to anyone. It simple makes painting so easy just mask up paint & pell off. Great lines every time & I've never had paint go though.

The best emulsion masking tape
I have tried many masking tapes over the years but this frogtape for me is by far the best when using emulsion leaving a sharp clean edge.
Im a decorator with yrs of experience and I can state that this tape is excellent when used correctly.
Do not leave it on till the paint dries read the instructions!
The seal is activated by the moisture from the emulsion.
I also use this tape for masking carpet when painting skirting with great success even with oil based paints as protection only, frogtape do an alternative for oil & stain if you want edging.
