Purchased this tool to reach awkward branches, well made, great to use and easy to handle fully extended. Should have bought one years ago.

Saved load of money by felling my tree myself branches were caught in telephone lines, telecom wanted £300 just to look at the work need to move telephone. Used saw attachment and pruning device to cut away foliage before felling. This device is a bargain at less than £15.00. I think for the value you need more than five stars.

I purchased this pruner to finish off a job that I had started with a Spear & Jackson pruner "the spring came off the spear & jackson tool and unfortunately ended up in the pond". I read the reviews on this product and thought it would do, just to finish the job off....Sooooo wrong, this tool may be alright for pruning roses, but for pruning tree branches it comes up well short, It will not cut through 20-25mm branches, I am well disappointed with its performance.

Nicely finished but poorly adjusted. .(1)Main joint needs tightening until spring action only just allows blade return. This assists ratchet to function properly.. Installation of a cup spring washer could be an advantage here (2).Saw blade fixing bolt benefits from friction retention afforded by centre-punch crimps on gap line corners. This avoids the wish for a third hand when attending to the blade.(3)Untrimmed Flash on the eccentric pivot of the locking mechanism can cause difficulty in achieving a proper locking action due to internal drag on the loose collar..
