Rated 1 out of 5 by Chocolate fire guard. This product is about as usefull as the proverbial chocolate fire guard. Expensive and utter rubbish. The pins are too wide and the biggest issue is they cannot be locked into place once the profile is set. Making it impossible to trace the profile template onto the surface you want to cut to. They just move when you try and trace a pencil line around them making the guage totally useless. Took it back and eventually got a refund. 12 Feb 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Closer cut with profile tool I decided to upgrade when doing a tiling job and this really does make a difference much tighter cuts on odd shapes around door jams and odd shaped skirtings. Makes the tiling job look much more professional. The tool itself is sturdy and accurate and holds its shape well. The friction is adjusted with screws to allow for wear!! 16 Dec 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Profile gauge - Don't think so Forge Steel have never been my favourite brand, but this was the only profile gauge available from Screwfix. Spend £100s if not £1000's a year at Screwfix and was disappointed that this tool was flimsy and imprecise. The 'blades' are loosely held and moved as soon as the device was removed from the profile. Tried several times, same result each time. Product packed for 'Returns'. 7 May 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Read the Reviews Wished I had read the reviews a little more carefully. Wanted this to template round toilet and sink pedestals which were remaining in place, as an earlier review pointed out the 'pins' are not deep/long enough to profile round the whole curve and the unit is not wide enough, meaning the profile had to be pieced together in three or four attempts, probably would have been quicker to do it the old fashioned way Product could do with being a little wider as well; +300mm would be a better width. Plastic pins are a bit too chunky and not held as firmly as I would like. Overall a lot of money for what it is and there are better items out there on the market, if time were on my side I would not have purchased this particular item. 8 Apr 2015

Answer:
Hi AshPhx, By scaling up the enlarged image on the website, and by calculating the scale difference, we would estimate the maximum depth to be about 45mm. I hope this information is of help to you.
