I have used 1000's of these plugs and I have ever had issues with these plugs. I find they are great for first fixing, and for fixing anything from lights to cupboards.

There are many types of plugs from lots of companies. In the olden days you could buy a long "thing" that you cut to length. Good in many ways.
I was taught by an expert carpenter to hang a shelf or whatever FAST. You drill the first hole and fit a plug. Screw it to the end of the shelf. Now use a bubble and swing to level and go through the wood and the wall with the drill. Stuff the plug in add the screw and hammer it till you can't hammer any more. Now screw it. Awesome. But not with conical plugs with a rim! These plugs are great cos they work in the old way. I used this sort of plug on a rotten 130 year old wall and they worked well.
