Rated 5 out of 5 by repair spike The fence post repair spike proved very easy to use. once the old post had been cut off above the concrete the spike was driven into the what was left of the concrete encased bottom of the post. The spike followed the corner of the timber and tightened up as it was knocked down into place. It remained vertical throughout the operation. Once driven level with the existing timber the new post was dropped into the socket and tightened up with the clamp bolts. The bolts allow for a degree of vertical realignment if necessary. Easy to use and very rewarding. 11 Apr 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Repair spike Good sturdy piece of kit, does a good job and is better than some others with tension bolt to secure post 16 Apr 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Rotting Post I had looked to see if there was an easy option, rather than having to dig out the old post and contrete, then reset with a new post. I searched the web for a solution and fould this along with other similar products. The difference was that this product was the only one rated as 5* all the others had a fault / flaw. The spike went in a treat, leaving a very solid based for the new post. Only I had to plane a couple of mm off my post as it was 75mm 78mm for some reason, I would have had the job done in under 30 minutes from start to finish. 19 Jan 2015

Answer:
Hi KevnR,

The minimum you would required would be the hammer, but a post driver in the correct size would be a useful addition.

Thank you for using Q and A.
