Evolution RAGE 7-S 80mm 710W Jigsaw 230V
Not a product I normally use, so after doing some extensive research online the Evolution appeared to give the best money vs performance. And, having now used it it really stands up to the other reviews.I made a good choice

A serious contendor
My requirements were an easy to use, reliable and affordable jig saw. The Evolution jig saw hits the mark on all three.
The saw feels solid and appears to be well built. The only reason that I have not given it 5 stars for reliability is that I have only had it a short time and although used it quite extensively feel that as it is relatively new a 5 star review could be be misleading.
Worth considering even if you are happy to pay £100+ for better known brands.

Won't cut straight
OK it's cheap. It's got plenty of features and if you're just slicing stuff up probably OK.
If you're trying to cut anything to a pattern forget it. Better to buy a quality brand. It won't cut to a line (the laser line). I battled on an angle to get a straight line / The work piece was cut at an angle when supposed to be straight.
It just doesn't have the build quality to cut where you put it. Beware if doing quality work.

I bough this jigsaw a short while ago to help with fitting my work tops and I'm sorry I did. The saw did not cut square to the top and the blade wanders making it very difficult to cut straight . I have only cut out the hole for the sink and the hob and it has fallen apart. The pendulum select lever simply fell out. I have know idea if the laser was accurate as the blade wandered to much for it to be of any use. I took the saw back and I now have another one the same, I'm willing to give it another go incase it was just that one machine as all the other reviews are so positive. If I have any problems with this one it will be going straight back as well.
