Excellent Value Door
I purchased this door to replace the wooden door at the back of my garage. This door is good quality and excellent value for money when you consider a softwood door will cost almost the same by the time you have purchased the frame, door furniture and paint. When you throw in the fact that a wooden door will need to be painted regularly, and will eventually swell through moisture, the uPVC door for me was a no-brainer.
If you are confident at DIY, this door is relatively simple to fit. I would say my DIY skills are average, and I fitted the frame and hung the door within a couple of hours.
My biggest criticism (and the only thing that prevented me from giving this an overall 5 star rating) is that the instructions were very poor (and in fact wrong!) when it came to adjusting the latch and lock mechanism (the door will not lock unless the latch sits correctly in the door jamb). This took me several hours of cursing, fiddling and trying to understand where I was going wrong with the instructions. It was only out of desperation that I decided to unscrew the 10 or so sets of screws from the metal door jamb track set in the door frame, and repositioned it by creating new fixing holes. Once I'd done this, the door closed and latched first time with a satisfying clunk.
The compression hinge was another mystery. It looks like this part is used to keep the back edge of the door compressed against the frame seal when the door is closed, but this is not explained very well in the instructions. It also seems to snag slightly when the door closes which I guess could be down to the position of the pre-drilled holes in the door for this part. As my door is fitted to a garage, draughts are not really an issue for me, so I've removed the compression hinge.
The door was delivered well packaged and damage free, and the couriers kept me informed of the delivery time and date which was very helpful.
Overall, I would highly recommend this door, especially at this price, but I wanted to share my experiences of the lock/latch adjustment and poor instructions to prevent anyone else wasting as much time as me on this process.

Is the 840 width the door or the door and frame?
It would be the size of the door and the frame.

Does the door open outwards, away from the building
This door would open inwards due to the way the frame around the door functions to protect the door.

IS THE DOOR Handle on the right hand side looking from the outside?
The handles would be on the left as it is a right hand hung door, hung on the hinges.
