Locks the bit in well but almost no magnetic force at all. Will not pick up the smallest of screws or hold it on the end. Also, something I didn't think about before ordering, is that the wide end gets in the way when putting a screw in diagonally, or more than a cm below the surface. For example when wanting to peg the screws with dowel later. If you're only sinking screws to flush on a flat surface it will work but then you'll still want the magnet to pick up the screws and hold them on the bit, so not a lot of good really.

For the money it cost I must admit not expecting a lot from this but was very impressed by it. Fairly good magnet and quality has not been compromised by its price. Good job all round.

This is not bad but the bad point I don't like is that the magnet is not strong enough to pick up a screw

Having lost several HEX bits when they fell out of the usual extension bit holder that came with the drill when the drill was put down, I decided there had to be a better solution AND THIS IS IT.
The magnetic holder is augmented with a really cool locking collar that really works well.
Well worth every penny, just amazed it's so cheap
Do buy one, also the very handy 300mm tool that I've got as well, reached down those hard to reach screws
