Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good plug for a Plug Cutter! This item looked a little fragile on first inspection, but after reading reviews, I deburred the cutting edges, then tried it at slowest speed in my bench drill on a piece of oak. It cut very sweetly and produced five plugs, all of the specified diameter. So far so good!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from plug cutter These cutters are okish They work fine on soft material however its not a top quality plug , the finished article is rough and does not make a perfect fit in hard wood a lot of the problem is because of heat generated distortion when they blunt ..Having installed thousands of feet of oak recently I can state that they don't last very long in all cases the heat generated causes the cutter to distort this makes the prong catch the material and snap off. If you want a high quality finish you need a high quality set these last about 50 cuts in oak you need to use low speed and take it very easy the cutter is also quite deep and can produce a long plug . the trend cutters are far better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VFM item As other reviewers have said, works perfectly if you use a pillar drill. Needed a quick polish with a piece of wet n dry to deburr it prior to using it otherwise it is a perfect bit of kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good product Bought this to cut some plugs for an Oak mantel shelf. I've not used in the Oak yet but seem fine in softer wood. I would recommend though it be used in a pillar drill to get straight plugs. I would also recommend it drilling slowly so not to burn them out.
