good quality 10.8v drill after researching the market for the best 10.8v professional drill out there, I thought the Makita's offered the best value for money, until I saw this one! Absolute bargain at the offer price at the time especially with 2 batts. I am a DIY'er, but do a lot of DIY, and use my tools hard and a lot. This Drill is nicely weighted and balanced, feels solid and appears to be good quality. good performance, works well, easy to use. Only downsides are the 2 yr guarantee doesn't cover the batts, it doesn't look like you can get replacement ones anymore, either. Also the drill case is good for the money, but its too small to store anything extra in it, even a small bit set! which can be a pain. I haven't used it much yet, so can't really comment on the quality as yet. But overall very pleased with it so far, it seems a good buy. 16 Mar 2015
value excellant value handy size for smaller jobs lots of features and portable for ease of movement without cords 4 Mar 2015
Just what I want On paper this drill is just what I want for my diminishing need to do DIY, li-ion batteries should hold a decent charge over a long standing period, the ability to do a 30 minute charge is brill considering the smallish capacity of the battery, and they give you two, problem solved. Surprised by how heavy 1kg felt, can only put this down to the battery location where unlike other drills it does not provide either a stand or counterbalance in your hand, but it does mean the drill is overall more compact making it good for restricted places. Having experienced keyless chucks with hammer drills...forever having to retighten the chuck, a hammer feature is not missed, that is being covered by a cheap corded drill with a keyed chuck. The Screwfix price is an absolute bargain, check it out on other sites, then jump in and get yours quick. 4 Mar 2015

I originally bought this when you were selling it with a single battery and I would now like an additional one.

This will be the first time I have bought a drill and it will be used for work. The one we currently have is corded and isn't rally suitable for use around a busy office building due to trailing cords and it mostly be used to fix things to external walls.

Answer:
Hi,
This is a small lightweight and light duty drill driver that will drill holes and drive in screws. If you are intending to also drill holes in masonry and in metal, you may wish consider purchasing a Combi Drill with Li-ion batteries. These are drill drivers with the option of a hammer action for drilling into masonry. Ideally you should consider purchasing a drill in the 14.4V and 18v range, and with the higher Ah battery ratings. Most entry level drill have batteries in the 1.3Ah to 1.5Ah range. Currently the 5.0Ah batteries have the highest ratings.
