SORRY TO SAY I've had problems. The colet to reduce th bit size to quarter inch stuck so it had to be retightened after it was already tightened and was a real pain to release the quarter inch bits out of. The spanner was far too poor to give the force needed to tighten and release the bits. The motor failed after a few trial cuts on first one I bought. Screwfix replaced it without a question, but now I have the second one, before I have even started to use it, I see a dent on the rubber handle, and a screw head is protruding on the base plate so I have no chance of level or smooth slide along the wood. these were liveable with and probably solvable BUT Much worse, the machine was very loose on the down sliders so I have no chance of an accurate cut, probably a 1 - 2mm variable error caused by the slack in the plunge mechanism. Completely unusable before I took it out to the workshop. I am back again to Screwfix to have it replaced again in the morning what a waste of precious time. May I suggest opening the box and checking the plunger and general condition of the item before getting too far from the shop! 24 Jan 2015
Bought as an upgrade Initially bought the £50 Titan router which was rubbish by comparison. Well worth upgrading to this power tool. 22 Dec 2014
Powerful but... Bought 2 years ago, initially to fit recycled kitchen worktops and cupboards in my garage when I refitted my kitchen. It did the job admirably well. Used regularly since. The router is very powerful, cuts on a true vertical plane with no play (as you'd expect it to) and the slow start works a treat. It will cut thru anything (wooden) like a knife thru Lurpak. I like the parallel guide and spigot, which I have used for cutting circular holes and rebates for loudspeaker units. It is very finely adjustable. It 'only' gets a 3 star overall tho because I don't like these double trigger arrangements. I'd much prefer a straighforward on/off button. Also the instructions which come with it have an additional looseleaf page (not included in the online version) in which it states quite clearly (albeit in chinglish) that the fine depth setter no workie. I can confirm that this is correct. Anyone who says that the fine depth adjuster works is imagining it. For fine work requiring very precise depth setting you need to set the depth manuallly with a depth guage, which is awkward given the heft and shape of the thing - you can't stand it upside down on a worktop without it falling over. The preset depth stops work fine tho. In conclusion I'd say this router is a no-brainer for kitchen fitters as it is a robust piece of kit which is easily as powerful as the dewalts, makitas etc but without the price premium. Comes in a nice, strong, well designed blow case too. But for fine work I'd choose a router with fine depth adjustment that works and an on/off switch. 13 Dec 2014
not cheap I bought the 2100w model before this one. The performance was good until about 12 months of ownership. I only used it to fit two kitchen worktops before the internal plastic fan self destructed. I was just out of warranty & you CANNOT get parts. Pay a little bit more for a quality product with decent aftersales service & spares. 11 Dec 2014
