Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inhibitor Bought this to replace an in line scale inhibitor. Dead easy to install and at least it won't leak like the one that was fitted previously. Only fitted it a couple of days ago but can already see a difference in the water

Rated 5 out of 5 by from limescale inhibitor I bought this to replace a magnetic thru pipe one that split, easy to fit just wrap wires around pipe and fit unit to wall plug in to socket and forget it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must fit Having had a cylinder removed from a hard water area which was still ok, but the fire damage insurance paid for its replacement. I was astonished to see that the electronic water softener has kept it free of scale after 30 years. I have had this particular model in another house for seven years and it also appears to do the job. Cannot recommend this type of device highly enough, it doesn't say that it prevents lime scale marks from taps, which a salt based system should do, but it is a fit and forget system so convenience wins (because I don't clean the bathroom).

Answer:
For optimum performance the antennae should be wrapped around an uninterrupted length of pipe, however, the unit can be fitted either side of a valve or joint if necessary. Please ensure there is a minimum gap of 50mm between the coils with a minimum of 12 turns for each coil, depending on the size of your pipework.

Answer:
Wrap the antenna around the water pipe you wish to protect (either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction). The pipework may be either horizontal or vertical and can be made of any material (except lead) suitable for supplying water.
The Electronic Scale Reducer control box is to be fixed in an appropriate position (using the screws supplied), within a suitable distance of the pipe selected and where it will not come into direct contact with water.

Answer:
Both the BWT Electronic scale inhibitor and the Sesi Salamander are scale inhibitors which stop the formation of Lime scale in the water supply.
The BWT Electronic scale inhibitor is far easier to install than the Salamander, all that is required is a straight two hundred millimetre run of cold water pipe for the ariel leads to be wrapped around whereas the salamander requires draining down the cold water main and cutting the water pipework.
