Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whitey McWhiterson Hummed and hawed over which gloss to get for house skirting boards, had tried a 'value' style gloss which yellowed after 6 months. Couldn't be happier with the results of this stuff. Coverage is excellent, seems to be fairly resilient. Would recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never would've believed it! I'm an electrician. I hate painting. And I hating painting panel doors most of all. I've been using a water based own-brand product from a well known DIY chain. (It had their name on it.) I bought this oil-based paint after seeing the glowing reviews. Just finished painting two panel doors, and I still can't believe how easy it was, and how good the result looks! Staggered. Sure, the cleaning up after is a nuisance. I used a 4" gloss roller, and chucked it after. But it still took ages to clean the tray and the brush I used on the edges. Worth it though, to get such a superb result. No brush marks - No runs - No complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great results every time This is the only gloss I use now. It does take a little while to go really hard and certainly stinks when you use it but that is of course to be expected with a solvent based gloss! It goes on very nicely and produces a very pleasing finish.

Can I use a sprayer with this paint

I am looking to spray my IKEA kitchen gloss white. Can I sue this paint with a airless sprayer if paint is mixed with thinners or white spirit to the correct measures?
Asked by: Johnnyo97
For health & safety purposes we recommend this product be applied via brush only.

Does this yellow in low light areas?

I have read online that low VOC oilbased white paints yellow very quickly in areas not exposed to sufficient daylight? All the rave reviews are about how easy the paint is to work with and have been put up recently but I want to know if its stayed white for years? thanks
Asked by: jahtel
YES, it DOES yellow in low-light areas and by no stretch of the imagination could this be called a low-VOC paint. I painted all our internal doors in this paint just over a year ago. I first sanded the doors, then put on 2 coats of Dulux Trade Undercoat Brilliant White followed by 2 coats of Dulux Trade High Gloss Pure Brilliant White. After about 3 months, I put hooks on the back of the bedroom doors and hung bathrobes / dressing gowns on them. A week or so ago, I realised that the doors now have large prominent yellow stains where the robes have been hanging. It looks like a yellow shadow of the robes which hung there. I came on here to leave an appropriate review. This has happened in less than a year. Very disappointing. Despite it being a perfect paint to work with, I shall not be using this paint again.

is the dulux gloss a water based paint

Asked by: buk1
Hi, our Dulux Trade High Gloss is a solvent based gloss. If you're looking to use a water based gloss the cans will say Quick Dry, such as our Dulux Trade Quick Dry Gloss.
