Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I've used a variety of motorised valves in the past and they've all had the same problem - the head was difficult to work with and it got in the way when connecting the pipes. This one has finally solved the problem - the head is very simply removed at the push of one button, so that the valve can be fixed in place, and then the head can be pushed back on. Hurrah!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to fit Replacement for a broken ZA5 valve actuator- it was cheaper to buy the valve and actuator than just the actuator!. Easy to fit, just a problem that this is the second one I have changed - the plastic post that supports the spring that closes the valve breaks off after 2- 3 years. design fault?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Actuator failure These valves fail due to the plastic post breaking holding the spring. Easy to fix just replace plastic post with plastic bolt and two nuts. Works every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Maintenance fitter A very decently priced and affordable motorised valve. It was easy to install and the detachable controls/actuator was a real help as it made access to the fittings a doddle. I would recommend this valve

Is this a direct replacement for a defective BGMVSP-9 valve? Also, if replacing the actuator head only, which one is suitable?

Asked by: Anonymous
The BGMVSP-9 is a 6 wire zone valve actuator. The direct replacement for the 2 port valve and actuator will be 2488R, the replacement for the actuator only will be a ZA6 part number 5474R

End Switch Remains Live Regardless of Actuaor position. Fault?

The end (aux) switch seems to remain live regardless of the actuator position. Continuity remains in both positions and doesn't switch off. Is there a problem with the micro switch? Is there anything I could have done to cause this or is the unit faulty?
Asked by: CRLondon
This sounds like the auxiliary switch is stuck in the ON position. Generally this condition is caused by allowing too much current flowing through the micro switch, this heats the switch up and it welds itself in the on position. Factors like type, size and age of the pump being used and cleanliness of the system can cause this failure.

CAN I USE THIS TYPE OF VALVE TO REPLACE ACL LIFESTYLE MODEL NO:679H308 30LI

Asked by: Punisher0809
The ZA5 is a replacement for the 679H308 30L1 valve. Both valve and actuator will need to be replaced as the ZA5 is not interchangeable with the old valve body.

Replacement for zva-22 Drayton zone valve

Is the za5 2 port motorised the best replacement for a Zva-22?
Asked by: John73
The ZA5 is the direct replacement for the ZVa 22. It will require both valve body and actautor head to be changed so a drain down will be required.

Hi I need to replace both my 2port valves. The current ones I have are BGMVSP-2 (555212). Max pressure 125 psi. I have 16 radiators in my house.
