Drayton MiStat MP710R9K09SX Wireless Programmable Thermostat and Receiver
Reliable and efficient
I recently installed this product and found it to be more accurate and responsive than the previous five day Drayton wireless programmer, which was four years old.
The installation was quick and simple ,also the range of the wireless function is very responsive ,the temperature is more consistent and controllable than before.
The large led display for the room stat is very good enabling the user by just pushing a button in the centre to see setting etc without the need of my glass's, this is important and it is very user friendly, in fact I am About to fit another with a Baxi duotec combi boiler.
Finally it looks neat and tidy

MiStat mp 710RK09SX
Just to set the scene this system was fitted in a small 2 bedroom mid- terraced house built in 1992 with thermalite breeze style block work and insulated in the loft with just 70mm insulation. The house has a new central heating system with a gas mains boiler, 4 radiators and a bathroom radiator towel rack/rail.
I have just had a recent Energy Performance Certificate issued and thanks to my new programmer, thermostat and TRVs I achieved a 4/5 Energy Efficiency Rating on the central heating system. I had the MiStat mp 710RK09SX unit installed direct to the boiler via a local plumber which took next to no time. A quick install is a cheap install.
In use, the thermostat control itself is very intuitive to navigate and action your choices. The on-screen prompts are easy to read and adjust by means of a simple cursor and large + and â value buttons on the top of the unit. You can set the controls for holiday mode, night time control and of course daily temperature regulation which is all straight forward.
One of my favourite observations about this system is that because the downstairs radiator is so responsive and heats up quickly, so does the rest of the house. As warm air rises, the main radiator for downstairs soon heats up that floor to the pre-set temperature, (accurate to within half a degree Centigrade), and then goes on to warm the bedrooms. The landing radiator is the control radiator to regulate the system which is also on upstairs as is the bathroom rad, but we donât have the need to turn the bedroom radiators on because the heat is already so well circulated. Generally, downstairs is set to 20 or 21 degrees C and I have noticed that the thermostat is very responsive to adjusting quickly. Take note that the height of where you position it will obviously cause it to respond to the air temperature at that height in the room.
Overall I recommend the unit very highly for its responsiveness, sensitivity and reliability in making a more energy efficient and consciously run home. An excellent product.

Just replaced a 7 year old Sunvic wireless programmable stat with the P710. I was a bit dubious after reading the other negative reviews on this unit, but so far it has worked as it should. It brings the heating on at the set time (or a bit earlier with optimum start) and switches off when the set temperature is reached. Programming is a doddle, and the displayed temperature matches that of a calibrated digital thermometer I compared it to. It also communicates with the receiver when placed in any room of the house.
I guess there may have been some faulty units out on the market, but luckily I seem to have a good one!

poor wireless range
Its claimed to have a straight line range of 200m, but the one I installed wouldn't do 4m through 2 walls and a floor. We've ended up having to move it to a point 2m away directly above the receiver but on the floor above.
