Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy replacement unit Just replaced a still working 1999 basic 24 hr model for this new 7 day switch. As always with Drayton products no drama with change over as they don't make wiring or design changes for the sake of it. Current model now comes with a Holiday setting (not mentioned on Screwfix page) which is a bonus alongside GMT/BST auto change.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy fit timer programmer Unbelievably easy to install single channel timer, to early to tell about the reliability but everything is good so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgrade from mechanical timer I had a Drayton SM1 mechanical timer. It was there when I moved in. What a beast! Noisy, not user friendly and only 2 settings! It packed up... Replaced it with the LP711 wich is nearly £100 cheaper, silent and so many more functionalities. Straight swap as the back plate is the same. Undo the two bottom screws and off you go. No wiring required. it was even already set to the correct time. Very pleased with it so far.

Answer:
The Potterton EP2002 is a twin channel programmer that deals with both heating and water control. The LP711 is a single channel timer and so would not be a suitable replacement. A suitable replacement would be an LP722.

Answer:
The mini minder series came in two types. The Miniminder ES is a timer while the Miniminder is a programmer. Neither product can sit directly onto the back plate. There will be some wiring alterations to be carried out and a qualified electrician should be used.
