Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT TOOL!! what a great tool! this was used to unblock a sink waste that runs under my floor saving hours of messing about lifitng floor boards to find the blockage. It takes a bit of time but with some careful use i have pulled all sorts of rubbish from the pipe and the waste now flows freely. well recommended!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it Bought this drain unblocker to clean blockage in the pipes. Ended up I couldn't get it to go around any 90deg bends and was afraid of popping the joints so had to leave them. Ended up buying chemicals that done the trick instead. If the blockage is on the straight I would say this would be great, but getting it around corners is a different matter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool and some tips! As others have already said this is a great tool. It did not work how I thought it would compared to other drain unblockers that feed automatically (shouldn't of expected this at this price!), this tool is manually fed from the drum and into the drain. Once you feel resistance of the blockage a few turns of the drum in a clockwise direction will get the 'corkscrew' like end snagged on the blockage and allow you to pull it back and free it. In my case this took a few attempts to get all the offending items out. Word of warning this is not a job for those with a weak constitution. After use I pulled the entire rod from the drum and fed it into a bucket of water and bleach, cleaned the drum with bleach and water too. Then left to dry before feeding back into the drum and spraying with a general purpose oil to protect from rust until next time it is needed! Worked a treat and saved a costly call out.

What is the diameter of the brush end

I am looking at using something like this to try and dislodge a blockage in my central heating pipework. I've tried the cleaning solution method to no avail
Asked by: Jjmu
Hi Jjmu, The diameter of the fitting on the end, is not a brush, but a corkscrew. It is about 50mm / 2" at its widest. As the shaft is only about 10mm in diameter, we think it should fit into pipes down to 15mm diameter. Thank you for using Q&A. PB

Does Drain Unblocker item 11325 go in through sink or does plumbing under sink have to be taken apart?

Asked by: WomanDIYer

Assembled as per instructions but unsure how to use. placed cable in drain and rotated anticlockwise but doesn't feed in itself. Tried clockwise but no joy either. How does this thing work?

Asked by: claphamwill2017
Hi Claphamwill2017, Unfortunately Screwfix is unable to offer usage advice other than that contained in the manufacturer’s instructions. See Instructions "Point No. 1 - Loosen silver locking screw at point of tool". Check there is not a locking nut / sleeve where the cable comes out of the holder. If there is one, must sure you release it. We understand the correct method is the turn the handle in a clockwise direction. We hope this information is of help to you. Thank you for using Q&A. PB

Assembly help!!

Answers to the previous question in regard to assembling the unblocker are insufficient. Ok, after following instructions, the handle just spins on the unit. There does not appear to be anyway to lock the handle in place. Screwfix, please sort this out!
Asked by: Db19
Scrub that question! In my haste to get the job done I presumed the handle would be fixed. It should turn with the turnbuckle.

What's the difference between this and the pipe and drain cleaning coil?

We need to unblock a toilet so would this or this http://www.screwfix.com/p/plumbing-tools-by-rothenberger-pipe-drain-cleaning-coil/65766 be best? Thanks
Asked by: ElliotW
Hello. It is entirely down to your own preference witch one you use. The 4" Plunger (80690), will help to unblock your toilet, or if you need something to go around the u bend you would be better off with the drain unblocker (11325). Thank you for using Q&A.
