Great value, but beware - needs a 2 inch hole drilling in the ceiling. Also, the battery needs connecting even though there's a pullout tab. And if you do this after connecting the electrical plug, you can't get at the battery because the plug is in the way, and the plug is tough to disconnect. Seems to work ok, but not designed to be installed. Also, it's not white as it appears in the photo. Bought loads of stuff from screwfix over the years, and this is the worst purchase by far.

Just bought a trio of BRK units, this ionisation, optical, and heat alarm for a job. Annoyingly the ion' unit sounded as soon as the battery was connected, not the first time I've had this. 44 mile round trip and wasted time to get replacement. Next time I'll use Aico instead but Screwfix don't stock them.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by ADecks easy to fit
Easy to fit alarm. Honestly no reason to use the battery powered ones to avoid tapping into mains it really adds only minutes to the job.
Wire with plug could be a little longer but otherwise great product.
Remember to check plastic tape is removed from the battery. I pulled the battery tag but the +/- heads were still taped. Doh

I purchased a pair of these. Set the first one up and it would not stop bleeping. Read instructions it said battery flat (supplied with unit). Tried a new duracell battery and it still bleeped. Then swapped to the second unit and it worked fine. Could not get the first smoke alarm to stop bleeping. Returning for a replacement.
NOT HAPPY THAT A SAFETY DEVICE DOES NOT WORK.
