Rated 4 out of 5Â by Goodfella Cut thick porcelain tiles
This cutter did a fine job making easy work through some thick porcelain tiles to allow me to then drill the block behind with a 12 mm bit to fit some rigifix plugs.
It did not need water, i just kept the speed low and it took no time.
To avoid these skimming all over the tile, Note that these are too small for a pilot, the trick to getting them to bite on target is to approach the material at an angle of say 45 degrees, then once through the glaze straighten up the drill and keep going..

Not sure if I managed to keep the core drill cool enough as I managed to drill two hole in the floor tiles with no problem. I then tried to drill two holes in wall tiles, the first of which went fine but on the second the drill stopped working as it lost its cutting edge. This could have been my fault for not getting enough water on to the work area but always difficult on walls.
