Great performance and not bad on the price, would highly recommend.

I purchased the Makia BRW401 from another company first of all and found the bass to be terrible. Very overpowering. Makita said they were like this and the other company said they would not doing anything. They said it was a "site radio" and should be like this.
I went into my local screw fix store who tested it out for me and agreed the sound quality was not great.
I purchased this DAB radio and I am over the moon with it. Very compact and sounds fantastic.
Could use a few more features and there is a very slight humming sound when plugged into the mains but overall this is a brilliant radio. Would highly recommend.

Packs a lot of punch !
I purchased this radio due to having Dewalt Xr tools & batteries I've experienced the sound quality of the Makita equivalent and would say that the Dewalt is on par with the Makita.
1st of all as a previous reviewer has said something that is really annoying me is the audible hum that comes from the radio when being used via the mains. Not sure if this is a fault or just magnetic interference.
When using the radio via the 230v mains it also does not charge your dewalt batteries, I know it's just a radio and not a battery charger but it would have been a big bonus if Dewalt had integrated this.
The USB slot is a thoughtful and nice addition however will not charge your device unless running from the mains, not your dewalt batteries.
It would be nice if the radio had at least 4 presets to save stations although its easy enough to change station and this is me being fussy.
The sound quality is excellent for such a small compact unit and I am yet to have had a problem with signal and it picks up plenty of stations.
The storage on the side is great for putting your phone in whilst playing music via the auxiliary connection.
Being completely honest if it wasn't for my tools/batteries being Dewalt I would have gone for the Makita having experienced the equivalent DAB model mainly due to the ever so slightly increased features.
