Good strong square could have done with few instructions for help setting out hip roofs.

The country went decimal in 1971.
Timber changed years ago, is only sold in metric sizes and roof drawings will also be metric.
Why then is it so difficult to find a roofing square in metric?
The product is however well made and very useful in simple functions i.e. square, 45 degrees, scribing etc.
I suggest if serious use is intended, have a look at the Irwin booklet on roofing squares, which although still in imperial, may assist the novice in making full use of a potentially really useful bit of kit.

I've only used this as a T square, for making 90 degree lines on wood. The exposed edge can be rested quickly against the wood and the the perpendicular edge used for marking. It's a perfect size for this task.
