Rated 5 out of 5 by Solid fixing solves bad situ Used these when in needed to hang a heavy steel gate on a reinforced concrete pillar, I could only get the 12mm drill bit in 40-50mm at point and know that I couldn't size up on several of the holes so looked at what I could put in. These were brilliant, easy to install and all attempts binded, still got 40 left for future fun, fantastic. 10 Oct 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by fit and forget These are excellent little anchors. This version has a lip so it wont fall into the hole if you have drilled a little to deep. You may need to be quite precise about the bolt length you use for securing/fixing your material. The setting tool is a must for these little bad boys. The tangs are tapered. When you use the setting tool to knock in the plug, the tangs are forced outward to grip the substrate. The setting tool will ensure the plug is set at the right depth. The bolt length should be chosen so that when the bolt is tightened up the plug in the anchor cannot move and cause a loss of grip in the substrate. 7 Feb 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best anchor in a long time Having recently used the 10mm Dewalt drop in anchor I was pleasantly surprised that the item didn't just drop in as the name suggested, it actually needed tapping in with a hammer. Then the setting tool made it rock solid. I believe the the setting tool is necessary as it sets the internal plug the right distance to lock in the anchor, a normal parallel punch could be used, but there is a danger that the plug could be driven on out rendering the anchor useless. Hole sizes required are smaller as the M10 anchor only needs a 12 mm hole (where other well known makes of the same size can require 16mm fixing holes). Once fixed the Dewalt drop in anchor is bomb proof. 15 Jan 2015

Thank you for your question. I think it would be easier to use a Vinylester chemical anchor - such as the DEWALT AC100. Chemical Anchors are a brilliant anchor when you have shallow embedment depths, close edge distance, abrasive and hard base materials.
