DeWalt DWS778-GB 250mm Compound Sliding Mitre Saw 240V
Quality ! Highly recommended
I am a Professional carpenter /kitchen fitter. This is an ideal saw for stud work skirtings kitchen fitting etc.
It is lightweight and compact easy to take from job to job and easy to use
Good extraction you can get a lock on adapter from Black and Decker for around £ 13.00 .
The LED light is ideal for badly lit sites etc with a guide shadow to align the blade.
It does not cut halving joints like the next model up but is more compact and powerful and suits me fine. Has a metal guard rather than these awkward plastic things that seem to get in the way
the clampdown can be put to either side of the blade if cutting mitres. Easy to do just twist 180 Deg.and it can be removed.

An exceptional investment
I have been building items as part of various DIY projects and have been using a much cheaper Mitre saw that was struggling with the sizes of wood I need to get cuts on.
With the sale and a little bit of thinking I purchased the DeWalt Sliding Mitre saw.
From the first cut it is joy, the strong motor is quieter than I expected and the 40 tooth bade, once used to the ways to get get the best cuts almost polishes the wood.
What would have taken hours of cutting and checking angles on the old saw was done in a fraction of the time and it was a disappointment.
Never has cutting would been so much fun!
Just a word of advice with the ejection port make sure it at least points outside or you will be sweeping up for a while.

Great product at a great price
DeWalt products are generally regarded as the best on the market and this saw is no exception. Great versatility and incredible capacity for a saw that can claim to be portable. Add it to a DeWalt saw stand and you have kit that will last even the most demanding DIYer or professional a very long time indeed!
Great price from Screwfix too!

A joy to use
I was reluctant to part with £300 but this is an absolute joy to use, it cuts clean and true straight out of the box, unlike cheaper brands that apparently need adjusting before use.
The 1850W motor drives the 40 tooth blade cleanly and effortlessly through the wood, whilst the extraction port takes the dust away from the work area.
I can't comment on reliability since it's brand new.
Well worth the investment, no wonder they have sold out at sale price of £200 off!
