Rated 4 out of 5 by from good saw rubbish blade Bought this saw as a replacement for my old makita. The blade burnt out after cutting two lengths of 25 mil dry softwood. Not impressed but the saw itself seems quite good. Will not be using another dewalt blade in my new saw.

Answer:
Hi,
I have never used the Festool TS55 but I can give you some feedback on the DWE576K Circular Saw as I use this with the guide rail.
The saw is great and easy to use with or without the rails and will cut through all woods with ease up to about 55-57mm when using the guide rail. (you need to increase your cutting depth when using the rail by 3 - 4 mm)
The only down side to using this over the actual plunge saw is, you can't plunge cut as this is just a circular saw with capabilities to run on the guide rail, you don't get as good a kick back protection as you would with the DWS520K-GB plunge saw and also if you ever needed to use it to cut close to something like cutting doors insitu the you won't get the close to the edge cutting either, so you will have to take the doors of their hinges to cut 12mm+.
Another difference is the dust extraction isn't as good due to the blade not being fully enclosed like the DWS520K plunge saw.
This is designed as a Circular Saw that can be used with the guide rail to cut things like flooring and sheet materials, where the Plunge Saw can be used to cut into flooring already laid, doors and one of the most common uses would be cutting work tops where you can plunge down into the material to cut out sink and hob holes.
So the DWE576K-Gb is a great circular saw but if you want something that can plunge i would go for DWS520K-GB (56537).

Hope this helps with your decision
