Hi had a fein multi tool before this and this was fantastic, before someone pinched it, so I'm hoping that this dewalt will be the same as it's a good brand, but we will see.

I didn't know how useful this tool would become until I purchased it to do a project in France.
It became a lifesaver. The cutting tool was perfect for getting a good fit in all my joinery work and the sanding attachment was indispensable for cleaning up those awkward corners for finishing.
So easy to use and easy to move from one attachment to another...brilliant.

This is my first oscillating multi-cutter so I have nothing to compare it with. I'm very impressed with it so far - saved a lot of time removing grout and cutting holes in ply. It's the type of tool that I can see saving time on all sorts of tricky jobs. Would recommend it to any regular DIYer.
Only gave a 3 for reliability as I've only had it a few months.

I have previously had the Bosch Green (diy) 240V model and the Bosch 10.8V cordless model. The green one broke after a couple of weeks abuse and over the course of a couple of years the blue cordless one has wrecked at least 4 batteries. Decided it would work out cheaper to get another 240V one after losing yet another 10.8V battery to the Bosch. Chose the Dewalt multi-tool as it is more powerful and has several refinements compared to the Bosch and other brands: quick-change blades, cutting guides, variable speed trigger and a built in LED work-light.
Have only been using it for a week, hence only 3-stars for reliability, but so far I am impressed by the extra cutting power and the convenience of the quick-release blades.
As others have said elsewhere, there are cheaper blades from other brands can be bought online.
