Cutters keep braking. When you like a product you tend to stick to the brand. All my tools are Dewalt, Chop Saw, Drills, Drill bits (lots of it), Jigsaw, Plug Saw, SDS, Goggles , boots and so on. I decided to get the DWE315B to use in cutting central heating pipes were I could not get the traditional bulky pipe cutter in. The cutters started braking at the same point where it is clamped my the tool. To give myself benefit of the doubt I asked my partner to use it herself, she did and another cutter broke at the same point agin. I called Dewalt, a gentleman said that he came across this before and asked me to send it to their repair centre. The repair centre called me after lunch on the day they received it to say that they could not find a fault in it and Dewalt are now denying that anyone mentioned that they had any problems with them. Now I have been told to take the matter up with Screwfix. 31 Jul 2015
Excellent Replaced my old green DIY Bosch multi-tool with this and it's in a different league. Powerful motor, cuts quickly and accurately. Really like the quick change blade feature. Variable speed handle works really well. Even the little LED light is useful for seeing in dark corners. The light did pack up after a couple of months but was quickly repaired and returned under warranty. I would strongly recommend wearing padded gloves with this as the high speed vibration has given me tingling fingers after a few minutes use (the starting signs of whitefinger, a serious condition that I really don't want! I think this should be mentioned in the instructions.). Other than that, a great piece of kit. 9 Jul 2015
Solid piece of kit Had my eye on this for a while and so eventually bit the bullet. Not been disappointed! Quick change ability of tool has made all the little jobs easier, from chasing to second fix. 8 Jul 2015
Nice item Got this as a present. Easy to change the cutters etc. Would have preferred a plastic storage box instead of a toolbag. Quite expensive but a nice bit of kit. 21 Jun 2015

Hi, the trigger can only be locked at maximum speed but it is possible to hold the trigger for constant lower speeds while using the tool.

Answer:
Hi there,
I would not recommend using this type of tool to remove mortar as it isn't powerful enough and also there isn't the correct accessory to do the job. (tile adhesive & grout is not a problem)
To remove old mortar I would recommend using a mortar rake like 77719 or 25598 and I would also recommend using an extraction vacuum as this job will create a lot of dust.
