I have used this on kitchens, fitting shelving, stud walls. Works really well when not to bright, so when using it near a window I had to use a white board to find it. It fits on to my camera tripod as there is a female thread on the bottom.
The metal bracket has a crocodile clip or two screw holes top and bottom to attach it to what ever of your choosing. I only normal use the top hole to secure it. The device holds well to the bracket by the strong magnets enabling to adjusting it up and down with out slipping , also to any metal objects in the room such as radiators.
The device can be swivelled when mounted to the bracket or wall which helps to illuminate the room easier.
Protective Kit Box is compact holding and protecting the device securely and the battery's are hold separately.

Borrowed one months ago loved it , Came round to needing one for a big tiling job (tiles 900X450)bit the bullet and bought one 6 months ago.Never looked back ,Have also bought the receiver which gives 50 mtr range and is very accurate as well ,ideal for Tiling,Decorating,Kitchens,Bathrooms,Stud work, Groundwork's ,leveling Walls ,Fencing ,or anything really that would require an auto level or a very tight string line .As for the tripod which could be expensive ,i use an old camera tripod which has quite a lot of adjustment on it so helps in setting up to differing levels on a job.Another plus on this is the reaction of clients when they see the red lines around a bathroom/kitchen and know that everything is level and plumb . If you do any of the above works regularly then this or these are the way to go ,Yes it may seem expensive but the time saved in setting up/out will be noticed immediately and that can only be good in the long run.
