Rated 5 out of 5 by from Anchoring oak sleepers I used these in the bottom of new oak sleepers to anchor for raised beds. The coach screws sticking out of the bottom of the sleepers were then sunk into small holes in the ground full of concrete. 2 per 1200mm sleeper. Nice and easy to use, seem to be quality, nice sharp threads. Important to use stainless with oak outdoors. Used a 17mm socket, w ratchet handle.

Would these be suitable for fixing a ledger board to concrete blocks (using a raw plug) that will support the cross section beams of my decking (using joist hangers) Would these bolts have sufficient shear strength in them or would anchor bolts be better
