I purchased these 40 grit belts following earlier reviews, in comparison to other belts available on the market they offer fantastic value for money, they do exactly what is required of them and remove material effectively and smoothly.
I have used them to sand down some old reclaimed timber and along with the 120 grit belts i achieved a superior result of which i am very happy with.

I bought this product in order to cut it into 6" lengths & fold double for hand sanding.
I've been unable to find a really tough sand paper (in stock) and I find the usual stuff doesn't last 2 mins.
When you add up the length of all the belts, it works out at pretty good value.
The performance is amazing - I was able to rub down an entire detached house ( fascias, soffits, barge boards & lots of random areas) with a single piece and that piece could easily do the same again.
The 40 grit really does cut into old paint work to key the surface for undercoating like nothing I've ever encountered before. I had all the rubbing down done in a fraction of the time it would normally take.
I think I will pop back to Screwfix & buy some 80 grit for less demanding areas. I won't need to buy any more of this stuff for years, and being a Handyman, I do have need for using this stuff quite a bit.

These belts do the job nice enough but use them continuously and the belt gets hot, very hot and then the glue holding it together fails. This seems to be about the time they've stopped cutting well enough so maybe its not a bad thing.
