Waste of time and money. I spent more time loading new belts than I got using them. Many broke instantly on the glue joint and the others only lasted about a minute at best.
What a shame. The Makita 9032 that I bought from screwfix came with a small supply of belts and they lasted ages, I thought what a fantastic tool it was - until I came to purchasing more belts. I've now given up using the sander. Shame.
Anyone found a decent make of 9 x 533 belts?

I have 4 of these Makita sanders in our workshop and they are all used every day for quite some time, they're brilliant and I would be lost without them...!
The belts for them.... Buy 4 times the quantity you actually require! I buy 100 belts at a time, a quarter will fire accross the room the second you pull the trigger despite the sander being on the slowest setting and the tension is loose (not to mention ensuring they are facing the correct direction (every one fails if you put them on back to front)). A quarter will then go within a minute or two of gentle use and the other half will either last fairly well or get cut / sliced by what it is you are sanding... If the belts were better this would undoubtedly be the best tool I had, as it is it is just a headache and a solution needs to be found!

Complete waste of money, they fail within minutes.
The joint in very poorly glued and overlaps instead of the better butt jointed types that come with quality machines.
You won't actually wear the belt out because they break far too easily ! some even snap just by running the sander.
Get this sorted Screwfix ! I want to buy brand quality named belts for the makita's you sell.

I was unlucky enough to purchase 4 packs of these belts for my Makita power file. As soon as you put one on and switched on the power file, the belt Zinged across the workshop. This happened with most of the belts straight away, some lasted approx 5 mins before snapping. They all failed at the glue joint. I approached the local trade counter and was told that if there were more complaints the suppliers may look at the problem!!!
In conclusion, if you want to spend a fortune and watch them fly around the workshop then buy these, but it would be cheaper to cut up a standard belt say 100mm and try that.
