Century Bathroom Mortice Lock Polished chrome 22 x 76mm
Good kit - read caveats....
I bought this to go with a Jado Fleur De Lys black iron effect WC handle.
It's well made and I only needed a little chiselling to fit it to an existing 1930's mortice lock recess.
Note the following however:
Contrary to the illustration, the hole for the locking bar is not square - rather it is like 2 squares superimposed upon each other (a bit like an Israeli flag if you know what I mean). At first therefore it looks like you need a WC handle/bar with a star-shaped profile (and these may well exist) however a square section bar did fit but it was so tight I needed to file 2 sides a little to make a comfortable fit.
As a reasonable set of tools is required for this job anyway I'm not really going to mark it down just because a Jado bar is slightly wider that perhaps a Century one.
For reference you may find you need:
1. chisel(s) - to modify recess in door / frame
2. hacksaw - to modify length of lock/handle bar to fit your door thickness
3. Metal file to adjust profile of lock bar

I bought 3 of these to replace existing bathroom locks.
Both door and frame required a little bit of chisel work as originals were smaller.
Polished chrome finish looks good.
As long as your doors haven't been butchered previously these should fit in with only minor work required.
Only just installed so uncertain of long term performance

I found this good value for money, works well. Reversible latch. Cheaper than builders merchants.

Recommended as a straight replacement".
I replaced a Legge unit with this unit. The lock on this one is above the handle bit is the other way round to the Legge. Should they be "handed"?This means more work re positioning the screws, clumsy opening as the hand gets in the way of the lock handle.
