Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stuff Used 4 tins on 19 sq/m of top coat felt, very pleased, great stuff and mega easy to use and apply with a 3" paint brush. Just walked nice and slow on the felt to bed down into the adhesive . Now I did go through loads of disposable gloves but I should have worn some disposable overalls as the job cost me one pair of snickers!!!! Just get some disposable overalls at the same time, you've been warned lol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Survived storm Frank Cementone Feltfix has been repackaged under Bostik's livery but I suppose it is the same stuff. I have just put new felt on my shed but first trowelled on a layer of Bostik's bituminous mastic then laid the felt and stuck the overlap with Bostik bituminous felt adhesive which can be brushed on. I didn't have time to nail all round before it got dark so left it for the morning not remembering that storm Frank was due that night. The wind and rain was fairly bad as predicted and I feared that I would have seen the last of my felt. But in the morning the felt was still stuck fast to the shed. There were no rips where I hadn't finished nailing. It simply hadn't moved a millimeter! Well done Bostik. Two good products working well together. PS If you are re-felting a shed get a pack of annular nails while in Screwfix to fix the barge boards back on. They don't pull out like ordinary nails.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great felt adhesive Works well with a great coverage. The only downside I found was that when I used the adhesive it was a cold day and the time for it to turn tacky was well over an hour. The upside was that it was still tacky enough the next day to stick the edges of the felt and make a good seal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bitumen roof felt adhesive Seems to work well and good value for money. No leaks so far and hopefully not for many years. I did not need 5L of the stuff though. Would be nice if it came in 2.5L tins too at a cheaper price.

Does this product require you to use a primer first before applying it to wood (it's external use treated plywood) if not does it require any other preparations before application?

Asked by: Justphil
The Cementone Feltfix Bituminous Roof Felt Adhesive 5 Ltr product is designed for bonding bituminous roof felt to various substrates including existing roof felt. bitumen, asphalt and concrete among others . However the product is not designed for bonding roof felt to wood directly. For a wood application, a layer of roof felt needs to be fixed to the wooden roof first using flat headed nails, then a second layer of roof felt can then be bonded to this using the Feltfix product and following the instructions on the pack.

Garage Roof Repair - What Felt To Use

What felt should I use alongside this product to patch repair a garage roof. Could I just use a cap sheet product or normal shed felt?
Asked by: Jmarch
Thank you for your recent enquiry relating to our Bostik Feltfix Adhesive. We would recommend the use of regular bitumen roof felt alongside our product. Ideally you will nail down your first layer of felt and then use the Bostik Feltfix Adhesive to bond the subsequent layers. I hope this information helps.

Can this felt adheasive be applied to wood?

Asked by: Brommyfreddo
Good Morning, thank you for your enquiry on our Cementone Feltfix Bituminous Felt Adhesive. Correct use of this adhesive requires you to nail down your first layer of felt and to then use the adhesive to bond subsequent layers of felt to your roof. If used in this way then yes it can be used on wood. I hope this information helps.

Can you use it in wet wood ? ie shed roof

Asked by: Ross6006
The product should be applied to dry surfaces. However, it is not intended to bond felt to wood. The felt must be nailed with 'clout nails'. Subsequent layers of felt can be bonded on top.

Is this ok to use on felt shingles

Asked by: Desw
The Cementone Feltfix Bituminous Roof Felt Adhesive is a solvent based bitumen adhesive designed for either bonding roof felt to various surfaces or it can used for bonding mineral chippings to bituminous surfaces on roofs in suitable applications. However the product is not specified or designed for use on felt shingles.

Can I apply this on a damp roof ?

Looking to use this to patch in a new piece of felt into a leaking roof. Obviously it's now winter and the chances are it will be a cold damp day when I get some free time to get it repaired. So looking to see if this will work or not in the cold/wet. Thanks
Asked by: Jarvo
The Cementone Feltfix Bituminous Felt Adhesive is a solvent based brush applied adhesive designed for bonding suitable roof felt to various surfaces including existing felt, concrete and metal. To apply the product, the surface will need to be dry and there needs to be a minimum temperature of at least 10 ° C present during application, so unless there is decent window in the weather where the appropriate conditions are met, we do not recommend its use.
