Rated 4 out of 5Â by OriginalSpikeyMikey Cat 5 UTP - Basic but does job
A cheap roll of cat 5e Unshielded Twisted Pair cable, it does what you would expect. No problems fitting RJ45 connectors, cable runs round corners OK, have to wait and see what the reliability is like.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by AdFB CCA not Copper
This cable is made from Copper Coated Aluminium not solid copper. I don't have any real problem with CCA but it isn't suitable for a utp data cable. There are two problems, one is that aluminium is more brittle than copper so the thin solid cores break easily during installation. UTP is a tangly nightmare at the best of times and this cable fails if you get it in a tight twist. The other problem is the cable is being used for high frequency signals these travel through the plating and core at different rates causing all sorts of anomolies, I could babble on about skin effect, but the end result is poor data transfer. For this price you can buy proper solid copper cable elsewhere, if you can live with CCA it is available much more cheaply.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by CorkCH No loss of signal
I have recently installed a security cameras system and have one of them on this 100m cable,
I initially tried using a 50m cable and found I was about 15m short. Using a coupling and the cable supplied didn't work (probably due to signal loss over the line/coupling).
Replacing the cable with a single length has improved the signal and enabled it to function correctly,

Rated 1 out of 5Â by piglet Another dodgy Philex product
I bought a 100-metre coil of this cable and I make up a fair number of CAT5e - RJ45 cable assemblies.
I noticed straightaway that the 8-cores were tricky to get in the plug compared to other CAT5e batches. Testing confirmed that one core was open circuit. When measured with a micrometer, the brown-white core was significantly thicker than the other cores (1.20-mm diameter compared to between 0.90 and 0.96). The brown-white was too thick for the core guides and hadn't got as far as the contacts.
This is poor quality cable and if you have a reputation to keep, don't use it. You might be lucky and get away with it or have an application where this core doesn't matter.
