Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for high quality tea Now February 2017, installed filter September 2016. Because of the high quality teas from China and Japan I drink, I needed a good quality of water for brewing. This BTW High Capacity water filter will give me the quality I was searching for. Looked at other BTW filters but this one is good value or money. Used this BTW filter water for cold brew tea (just cold water and tea) left overnight. Boiling this BTW filtered water will not change the structure of my brew. I compared the BTW filtered water with store bought bottles of different brands and I will never buy bottles of water again (with two exceptions). My friends from abroad found it easy to drink water from the tap as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good budget filter Have installed this into a flat where chlorine taste and smell were really strong. As soon as filter was fitted and flushed through taste was as good as bottled water. Filter really easy to fit, no dramas and for the price what more could you ask for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value Good value filter, quick to install, the only issue i found was dripping from inlet, to solve this i used a John Guest 3/4 BSP - 3/8" Push Fit Tap Connector hand tight fixed the problem. Put on both inlet and outlet

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Removes a lot of gunk! Have used this in several properties now and does remove a lot of impurities and is normally reddish/brown on the unfiltered side and white on the filtered side. Seems less limescale and nicer tasting water (no need for britta filters anymore) Some small improvements could be: - plastic on the filter to be printed with a "please remove this plastic" a plumber we used left it on despite the instructions saying needs to be removed (we suddenly have better pressure since changing it) as it is easy to miss! - printed on the filter case/clear marks which way to unscrew and which way to tighten - I have printed a label and stuck it on so I don't have to work it out each time. Other than that works like a dream. If they added suggestions above would be 5/5 no probs. Installed using the flex pipes with valves as per a suggestion in someone else's comments for easy replacement and bypass.

pressure/flow specification

What is the pressure/flow specification for the Carbon filter which comes with this unit?
Asked by: CptD

Can this be used on the hot water outlet of a water heater?

I have a electric inline hot water system and have some black particles coming from it. Would this product eliminate those black particles and would it also be safe being fitted just after the water heater to feed to the whole house?
Asked by: DaleD
The BWT High Capacity Water Filter Kit can only be fitted to cold water lines. It would be recommended to install this onto the cold water mains feed, upstream from the electric inline hot water system.

I bought the 3/4" to 15mm female coupler (item 38542) to attach to the 3/4" npt male nipples supplied with this item but they leak. Which fitting should I be using?

Asked by: Anonymous
Please ensure you use 3/4" NPT coupler (not 3/4" BSP). Alternatively, use a rubber gasket in-between nipple and coupler to create a seal.

can this filter be installed on the main in comming water supply(just inside the house)

Asked by: jay101
Yes, as long as the mains water supply parameters fall within the operating specification of the filter. If the pressure and/or flow is outside the specification, the filter may not operate at its most optimal performance.

2 stage filter or will i require 2 of these?

I need both the sediment and carbon filter (the sediment for point of entry and carbon for point of use for drinking water). Will i have to buy 2 of these to contain the 2 filters i need? Thanks!
Asked by: Gazza332
The High Capacity Water Filter kit (16747) is supplied with a 10” housing and carbon block cartridge. The 10” housing supplied is not sold separately so if you were to purchase 2 of these kits please bear in mind you would need to purchase the additional 10" sediment cartridge (product code: 69860) for your specific installation requirements.
